When my new dishwasher was installed, the service person made me hold down the drain button 3 different times. He wanted me to know how to work it. I thought this was strange, but did not question further. Now, after several weeks of running this dishwasher, I am finding that after the cycle has ended, the bottom is dry. However, the next day, or next night, some water (a fair amount) has accumulated in the bottom of the dishwasher, and I do not know why. When I use the drain button, the water will drain out, but after paying close to $700.00 for this product, why would I need to constantly drain water out of the bottom of this new, supposedly high-end dishwasher??? I am not pleased. In addition, my old dishwasher, a Whirlpool, costing $700.00, and which was less than 3 years old, had this same problem, only there was no drain button on it. Could not get the water out of the bottom. I had a repairman come out, and he told me the motor had burned out trying to drain all the water out of the dishwasher plus sump pump was no good. Then he told me that my dishwasher was the third, less than 3 years old Whirlpool, that he had worked on that week!! For the same problem!!! Standing water in the bottom. I had not sent in my warranty for that dishwasher, so I just cut my losses and bought a new Whirlpool dishwasher from Costco. I would not have bought another Whirlpool from anyone but Costco, since they have the concierge service. I also bought a 3 year service warranty which picks up after the 1 year Whirlpool warranty, and the 1 year Costco warranty runs out. The repairman further explained to me that dishwasher manufacturers are not making their products well. They have decided that they will make their money on parts!!!!! I am not pleased.!!!!
